A World First

A world first multisensory computer assisted therapeutic (CAT) tool is also available onsite at Roots™ Out-patient. Acknowledged by International and South African leaders in the field, and developed by Addiction Medicine Expert Dr Lochan Naidoo, the Roots™ CAT is revolutionizing Addiction and Emotional health care.



The tool is a companion to patients and treatment providers alike and has multiple applications. Any person needing extended care after detoxification or rehabilitation at Jullo or any other treatment programme is welcome to add CAT to their ongoing treatment plan. Families are able to use CAT to recover from the rubble that addiction has left after the dust has settled.

Roots™ Out-Patient - Alcohol, Drug and other Addiction and Related Disorders can now be managed in Umhlanga, KZN without disruption of your daily Life .

Individualised solutions are recommended. Not all patients with alcohol and drug dependencies and addictions need in-patient treatment. Roots™ is an office based treatment facility for patients and families who want to improve the quality of their lives. Concise assessments while developing therapeutic relationships with patients and their families is the hallmark of the treatment approach. Anyone who wants to improve the quality of their life can be assisted using innovative techniques and state of the art research in a modern, comfortable treatment environment.

Sharing patient care with a multidisciplinary team leads to better outcomes. Roots™ is anchored in the medical model of diagnosis and treatment. Patients are viewed from a multi-dimensional viewpoint. The programme caters for patients with any addiction and co-existing psych and chronic medical conditions. Patients attending Roots™ are encouraged to continue treatment with their health care practitioner for co-existing conditions. The Roots™ programme improves management of co-existing conditions such as Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension. Medical and other health care providers report that they are able to better manage patients who have undergone the Roots™ Programme. Co-existing support with the religious sector and self help groups eg. AA, GA and NA are encouraged
